Houseplants that not only look beautiful but also improve the air quality of your home? What is really behind this? As a plant wholesaler, we have the right inhouse expertise to tell you exactly which air-purifying plants deliver the best results. Be it at the workplace, in the bedroom or in the kitchen, we have put together our top 10 air-purifying plants for you.

We start the new year fresh and not only thoroughly clean up at home. In the flower shop, too, the Christmas decorations are making way for a breath of fresh air on the shelf. Air-purifying houseplants are the ideal choice here, as the Urban Jungle will remain an important trend in 2021, which we want to pick up on right away in January.

How does it work?

Air-purifying houseplants absorb through their leaves pollutants such as formaldehyde and benzene from the air. These substances are stored and broken down by the plant and its roots. The resulting CO2 is converted into oxygen and released into the air as water vapour, which in turn improves the air humidity. Win-win, we would say. A study at the University of Wageningen (NL) is currently investigating the effect of green plants at the workplace. It is being tested to what extent the use of air-purifying plants has a positive effect on stress reduction, the ability to concentrate and the quality of work.

Our top 10 air purifiers

Mix & Match

And the best thing about it is that we don’t even have to decide on our favourite one. The Urban Jungle theme really comes alive when different varieties in various pot sizes and plant heights are mixed and matched. On top of it all indoor plant pots can be combined: Ceramics, baskets, bamboo, everything is allowed. All plant pots shown in the photos are from our supplier HBX Deco Natural Living and are available in our webshop. Follow this link: HBX Deco
